Branch Manager
The branch manager is responsible for daily operations of the geotechnical, environmental, and construction services departments and the testing lab(s) within a branch office. The manager maximizes long- and short-term profits for an entire branch office including the environmental services, geotechnical engineering, testing lab(s) and construction services departments. Manages from five to 150 employees (depending on size of branch office). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Must have a bachelor of science or a master of science (preferred) degree in civil or geotechnical engineering. Must be a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of Florida (or Georgia) and have at least five years of related professional experience.
Senior Geotechncial Engineer
The senior geotechnical engineer should have a minimum of five (5) years experience in both general construction practices and in geotechnical engineering. This individual will also possess a Florida or Georgia P.E. license. The senior geotechnical engineer will be responsible for directing project and staff engineers with management of geotechnical explorations, performing boring layout, classifying soils, supervising lab testing and writing geotechnical reports and cost proposals. Additionally the senior geotechnical engineer may be responsible for supervision of field technicians, supervising and mentoring staff geotechnical engineers during the construction services phase of the work, monitoring job progress, performance and project status.
Geotechncial Engineer
Under supervision of a professional engineer (P.E.), conduct geotechnical explorations, and integrate field scale observations and laboratory data into a comprehensive description of soil behavior; Perform computer modeling of simple surface and/or groundwater flow using commercial geotechnical software; Perform geotechnical recommendations and calculations for pile and shallow foundation design, settlement, vibro ground improvement, slope stability and earthworks; Study and investigate subsurface conditions to design various types of stormwater management systems for medium to large residential and commercial development projects; Meet with clients to present data and findings. Required: master of science degree in geology, geotechnical engineering or a closely related field with two years of experience in the job offered or as a geotechnical team leader; Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
Environmental Engineer/Specialist
Is responsible for conducting soil and water sampling as assigned and performs field testing in accordance with proper standard operating procedures. The environmental engineer/specialist performs Phase I & II environmental site assessments, and may assist with petroleum cleanup, lead-based paint, asbestos sampling, mold/indoor air quality assessments, subcontractor tasks, evaluates data and compiles written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies. The person needs to be reliable (manages responsibilities, puntcual, etc.) and have a good work ethic. They need to be able to cooperate with co-workers and clients and they also should be able to listen, understand and follow instructions. They must show respect for company property. Must have a bachelor of science degree specializing in environmental or geological sciences.
Commercial Building Inspector
Perform structural building inspection duties (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing--as licensed). Required: state of Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in mechanical, electrical and plumbing OR architectural degree.
Engineering Field Technician
Performs construction materials field testing duties for concrete, soils, and other construction materials.
- Report data in a complete, timely and understandable fashion;
- Ensure that all test equipment is functioning properly and maintained as required;
- Maintain company vehicle (responsbile for routine maintenance including oil changes, tire pressure, fluid levels, outside upkeep);
- Communicate with the technical services coordinator (dispatcher), advising dispatcher of current job status and locations as required;
- Turn in paperwork everyday attached to work order;
- Travel to various job sites at locations; and
- Strictly adhere to all company safety procedures and policies.
Prefer a minimum of two (2) years experience in construction or related field, a valid driver's license with good driving record, and ACI Level I certification.
Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Technician
Performs testing on concrete and soils. Individual will be responsible for the day-to-day completion of work assignments related to laboratory testing.
- Complete testing assignments in a timely manner;
- Maintain and use all equipment in the prescribed manner;
- Calibrate and maintain equipment inventory records as directed;
- Maintain communication with the laboratory supervisor about job assignments;
- Keep the laboratory and personal workspace clean and orderly;
- Attend all laboratory technician meetings; and
- Follow and support all safety procedures and policies.
Must have a minimum two (2) years construction materials testing experience and certifications in LBR, ACI, CTQP concrete and soils.
Driller (geotechnical and environmental)
The driller functions as drill crew chief in the operation of drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil type and strength characteristics. The activity requires mechanical drilling equipment operation and strenuous manual physical labor to advance the borehole into the ground. Drillers must be able to work outdoors in extreme conditions. Required: 2-3 years prior experience and a Class "A" CDL.
Business Development Representative
This position is needed to expand and maintain the existing client base and to develop new opportunities in a specified sales territory. Candidates must have:
- Proven sales record;
- Local construction, engineering, or architectural industry experience (required);
- Strong prospecting and closing skills;
- Willingness to travel;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Business/sales degree preferred.
Engineering Management Training Program
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. Applicants should be self-starters, with excellent organizational skills, computer skills and the ability to communicate well, both in writing and verbally.
