Why is it that cylinders might not necessarily
represent actual in-situ strength of concrete?

New Technology!

The  Maturity Method

as reported in
"Construction Today" magazine

A sensor is placed in the form, before the concrete is poured, which is later read by the Maturity Meter.

The sensor in a large mass of concrete gives a FASTER, more accurate reading then using concrete cylinder testing which represents only a small "sample" of the placed concrete.

UNIVERSAL is bringing the maturity method to its Florida projects in a way that this technology has never been used before in the region. Mark Israel, the company president, says his company is helping to introduce the CONCRETE MATURITY METHOD to the Florida Market (see photo). This method enables the construction process to speed up because it can demonstrate early strength gain of concrete in-situ, which allows early removal of shoring, slip forms, or post tensioning. The maturity method may also provide vital information to the contractor that will allow them to eliminate the purchase of costly high early strength ad mixture concrete.

To find out how this process can speed up your project, call Universal Engineering Sciences at 407-423-0504 and ask for a free evaluation of how your job could be impacted by the maturity method!
